Winnipeg Art Gallery

The Winnipeg Art Gallery is a cultural advocate for understanding and experiencing art and artmaking, and their vital place in our lives, work and society. With over 24,000 works of art spanning ten centuries, encompassing European and Canadian art, works on paper, photography, decorative arts, contemporary and studio, the WAG holds the largest public collection of contemporary Inuit art in the world.

Housed in the world renowned modernist building designed by Gustavo da Roza, the WAG inspires through artist and curators’ talks, films and videos, concerts, exhibition tours, and other special events. Each year school tours introduce more than 12,000 youth to the world of art, and the Gallery's Studio Programs, offering art classes to students of all ages, is the most comprehensive in Canada.

In 2012, the WAG embarks on an exciting journey, beginning with an exhibition of the iconic American artist Norman Rockwell (Mar 2-May 20, 2012), for the first time in Canada. With our Centennial year launching in September 2012, the WAG invites you to an unforgettable lineup of signature exhibitions, programs and events to be announced in the coming months.
